Don't worry, Tim. The picture you see to the right of that article is complete bullshit. (Unless someone has invented a laser that can project BLACK onto a white wall, that is... Would that be a "daser"?)
They've been working on these things for a while, and eventually we'll probably see laser TV and laser raster displays in hand held devices. But I'm guessing that it will be a decade or more before they're as ubiquitous as LCD's are today. (And don't forget OLED technology! It's advancing rapidly, and it's a serious competitor to the laser-based display technologies.) And you still won't have the power levels that we've got in our projectors. So we're OK for now!

Depends on what your business is. Even if the current scanner technology was replaced with something like that mobile thing there would still need to be software for writing and playing back shows as well as people to create and program those shows.
