I have a rainbow of color with my SP20. I connected the audio input tonight using capacitor coupling to the DMX board. The pot works to control levels BUT what a poor show Looks like the test mode in sync with the music. My Lanling RGY gives a better show than this. The Lanling knows to shut down between songs. Am I doing something wrong or is this the best I can expect?
I'm working my way up the ladder on scanning here but this is a poor show other than nice colors.

These program boards - we started including them for free with the 20k's. They are not trying to be anything other than a cheap way to run the scanners. Sounds like you need to take the plunge and spend some money on computer software - something like say a FB3 and associated software

Thanks Dave --- I can agree with you and I'm looking into better drivers.

I just don't like being dragged into the 21st century this fast

He's getting hooked up with a sound card DAC for starters and probably the LFI live player along with laserboy, spaghetti and the zoof games. Should be a nice inexpensive start

    Post SCANPRO20K "offset" pot ?

Hello, I have a set SCANPRO20K of galvos and amps boards. I would like to know what is the "position offset" (PR5) trimmer ? (Yep, I know the document says "don't touch it") I've tried to tune the boards and touched PR5 accidentally. Seem to have almost no visible effect and i don't like to not know what something is for Someone has an idea ? Or - better - the schematic of a board ? Thanks by advance, cLx

If it is anything like the 30/40/50k amp, the position scale is part of the AGC circuit.. That's about all I know..

Well, as Dave said, it would just be the offset for the galvo. ie, where the shaft rests when it isnt getting a signal. The reason they say to not touch it, is because in the back of the galvo is a teeny little mirror, and it you adjust the offset too far, you could break it, and there goes your optical feedback! If you only just bumped it slightly, it should be fine, as the galvo's range of movement is very limited, i'd imagine it would take a few turns on the pot to see a noticeable difference.

Apparently, the galvo board is from Sonima ( http://www.sonima.com.cn/ ), i'm trying to make a schematic of the board. But it's long and boring. But i'm too curious.

That's what I did with the other 30/40/50k scan amps
