Yes, I know Alexey is looking into this for you.
And yes, Alexey is quite busy, working on our next-generation software... Nevertheless, I know he will get back to you ASAP about this.

You need to see first which video will convert right by extracting one frame and playing with it until Traceit recognizes it perfectly. I strongly recommend to prepare image before importing it into TraceIt. Then you need to record every parameters and do a batch conversion. Actually if you have something that you want to see in ILDA give me a link to that video and I can show you what to do. Also use a Traceit build-in painting tools to fix all imperfections. I showed how in TUT 3 and 4.
I hired an Italian guy to do my wires. Now they look like spaghetti!
I want to do an effect like the one from 1:20 to 1:36 in the video below. Would there be any chance at all of using Traceit to convert from the video back to the ilda file?

Depends on what system you need to do this:
1. Make animated wave and to make a bright spot you need not 1 dot but at least 10 that will make this spot very bright.
2. Do a point repeat. This is for LDS/Phoenix/Lasergraph
I don't know which system they are using but assume it's a Lasergraph.
It's very easy on that system.

I'll post a list of videos of youtube that can be traced with minimum effort.
Just make sure you copy MP4 version and not standard quality FLV.

Bill, know this is a bit cheeky, but as you know many of us here aspire to owning Pangolin software but as amateurs its far beyond our reach. Is there any chance after the next gen software has been out for a while, you could maybe release the old version & control board under another name as an amateur program at much reduced cost. I'm sure this would help many people get on the ladder towards meaningful displays and maybe ultimately the latest Pangolin software if their employment takes them that way. I'm sure also perhaps cutting down the control channels to say maybe 2 lasers max simoultaneously would also help keep it in the amateur interest area.
