    Question

How bout using two telescopes? one to shrink a little and one to straighten divergence out afterward...

It's hard to aim a moving beam through a telescope.

Before the scanners... There has got to be a way to shrink a beam from 5mm to 3mm and keep the same divergence, given enough optics... I guess a two step approach, shrink, then straighten.

I have the same issue with my 635nm laser. I'm thinking about passing it through a folding prism to simulate a longer pathway to the dichroic mirror.

Someone has to have a collimator for this type of problem. Problem is finding it.

They have been looking into this problem for last 90 years. Still no answer

Man if that red beam in the pix was a dork it would be a porn star !!

Not sure how many guys got the email but HB lasers Germany have a sale on right now..

They are selling various reds one that caught my eye was the 7-800mw 640nm I think it said.. for about $1750.00 Euros with 3mm beam.. 1mrad div
Anyone had any experience with any of the HB laser units ??..
Seems a good beam spec for the money..

    Cheers

650nm...and you have to divide it by 4...So 800/4=200mw.... You can get 200mw 635 with a good beam spec. Problem starts when you try to get above 200mw. In case of 650mw above 800mw.
