Diode housing/angle
Hi all
Bought two 200mw 650nm from china laser shop, both are bright and seem ok. (no power meter)
I'm going to run with die4drive driver and mount with tec plates (no ground probs),but to get the correct beam polerization the diode housings will be at differnt angles. I've never been inside the housing is it possible to rotate the diode inside to leave the case horizontal for easy mounting?

Hi,
I managed to destroy one of these recently!
To be fair it put up with 15V for quite a few minutes before giving up!
So I took it apart. I removed the front circular part with a pair of circlip pliers, came undone quite easily. The diode is smothered in heat sink compound.
It s not fixed in any particular orientation, so you could fit them 90deg to each other I guess.
I found them very helpfull - my module had its power wires reversed - as does the one in your pic! No harm was done though, it worked fine when corrected.I see we are practically neighbours - nr Inveress here. Are you coming to the meet?

Thanks for info, Iwill open up and have a look about rotating. The power leads on this are correct, I looked at the warning about possible reversal of power leads and checked PCB/component layout to make sure of polarity before connection. As to the meet- When and where?

Last meet the raffle prize was a 1 watt greenie - pretty awsome!

At the moment I have put the reds aside.
I just want to get a projector up and running.
I was using a 50 mw green, but could not get it to blank using the ScanPro20 kit - although it blanked OK with a signal generator. I have now fitted a 100mw green and 300 mw red - but I feel a lot of the red is wasted as it has a fat beam - approx 3 x 6mm. Not a very good balance is being acheived - hence my question in another thread - I wondered if I could alter the output power of the green. This weekend I hope to couple the projector with the Alphalite board and software I puchased from another member.
Progress is slow as my job takes me away from home quite a lot.
If I don't get the reds working, I will bring the assembly to the meet for some advice.
