A while back drlava posed some optimization challenges. For one thing, he pointed out that it might be nice to be able to detect and remove repeated lines. I think I'm getting somewhere with that! Now if I can figure out how to get rid of useless dots in the corners of his DXF drawings, I'll have a pretty good routine for some significant data reduction of DXF imports.
As soon as it starts looking stable, I'll put it out there!

I'm still working out the fine details, but in general it breaks every frame into a set of individual vectors (single line segments between every 2 consecutive vertices) and compares each one to every other one. If it finds that two of them are the same, it blanks the second one. Yes! It is a lot of work! But it doesn't seem to take too long.
