Thats very nice, Dave! How does it compair in apparent brightness to 473nm?
IT looks beautiful in top picture, almost like you've put a solid blue perspex bar across. Certainly doesn't look like light.
Nice colour as well, maybe a little light for some tastes but nice never the same.
It's a direct injection blue diode - just like the 445 nm Nichia diodes. (The one's you see in those lovely Arctos projectors!)
They're small because they don't have a Vanadate crystal or a BiBO doubling crystal (or any of the associated optics) or a pair of TEC's like a 473 nm DPSS laser does.
On the other hand, I'm sure they're every bit as expensive as the Nichia diodes, which means they're *way* out of my price range...
Still, I gotta admit that it's fookin' beautiful!

so do u have a rough price for these diodes dave?

It all looks good but don't forget about ratio. 443nm is the same as 660nm You need minimum a power of 4 to balance it.
I hired an Italian guy to do my wires. Now they look like spaghetti!
yeah dave, how much are they ?
