    Default Projector Arrangement

    Hi All,

Since I finally have all my lasers, I'm building my projector. My dichros came from Lasershowparts (thanks Dave!). They're labeled:

    1) "Reflect blue pass green and red"

    and

    2) "Reflect blue and green pass red"

Dichro #1 will work fine for my last dichro before the scanners. I'm surprised by dichro #2. I (think) I wanted a "reflect red pass blue and green". My lasers are:

    1W Viasho 532nm
    400mw Dual MaxYZ 660nm
    200mw Laserwave 473nm

Since I have so much green, I wanted it to be farthest from the scanners. I don't think I can do that with these dichros.

Can anyone suggest a best course of action? Either buy a different dichro or a suggested setup?

    Thanks!

    Tim

I hope your going to have analog modulation on that green, its alot compared to the power of the other lasers...

Violate your green laser warranty and open up the power supply if the laser is analog modulated.

You can adjust the power output at the highest level (+5v). There are several trim pots inside. Take a power reading at +5 and adjust one trimpot 1/2 turn either direction. Take another power reading. If the power output changed, then you hit the right one.

BTW: I didn't tell you to do this. This post is for entertainment purposes only.

I would argue against that. Most software will let you set the max output so there is no need to physically cripple your laser. It's good to have too much power in case you want to have strong beams.

WOW, nice scanners Pits! Now that you have them, how do you like them?

By the way, did you get these blindly on our recommendation, or see them in operation first over at LSDI?
