If you have seen the vid you will see the 'spare' beam is caught by a flag mirror, that can be rotated to point the beam wherever I like, at last years UKLEm it was squirted at a home made (melted cd rom) lumina wheel
its all good fun and yes the power heat and water are all a PIA but when you see the gorgeous colours you just seem to forget about the heartache

    Thanks Pat
I have to say that there was much inspiration given to me to achieve this from PL members none the least of which was your good self.
Special thanks to Robin Bowden too, who very kindly provided the Paxolin.

As many of you who attended the UK meet will know - despite the 168 being present and functional it has not been acheiving quite the power it used to. This week I went right back to basics with it after discovering the tube was pointing down towards the cathode end by a few degrees. When I came to centre it properly I found most of the grub screws that hold it in place and adjust its position were loose! This may go some way to explaining why I just have to look at the head and it goes out of alignement!! So I re-centred the tube by eye, nipped the screws and locknuts down and begun the realignment once again starting with my trusty old uniphase 1125 he-ne.
Now I can get the cavity lasing with the spots pretty central on the HR & OC - previously the OC spot was way done at the bottom. Subsequently the power output is much improved and tonight I hooked up the scanners & PCAOM to Mamba and nearly wet myself watching a load of shows. Gorgeos - just fooking gorgeous.
I only took a few fots and have a couple of samples attached.
Boy thats a sexy laser - fetch me another pack of kleenex
