    Lightbulb S-P 265 Exciter How to make single phase??

    OK,
    I have heard of this done before,
    Has anybody done this here and how????

    I know its not instruction on how to but here are a couple of pix i have of the 265 with the bottom cover off

    you have a big difference in caps!
    Ok now just for a parts list and schematic.

    Also yours lokks like an earlier one to mine as there is no proteus flow sensor & assocaited board (see image). Yours look spositivley empty compared to mine!

    Yes rob you hit it, his is MUCh older than yours, his has old style flow switch and yours is protous.

    Rob, are you saying that your 265 will run on single phase? When we did it years ago we had a box of caps on the outside of the posersupply. I will try to dig up info.

    yes indeed it does run on single phase its as I bought it 4 years ago.

    I remember that if there was not enough filtering caps the filament choke would buzz, and with time and getting hot the paper between the wireing of the choke would get discolored and could present a fire hazard and your PS appears to have much bigger caps than laser nerds. His is very old school, just like the ones I have

    I dont think it is a retrofit...it is just a newer power supply than the oldschool ones with the old style flow switch. It appears to be factory to me.
