    Default Mobolazer 300mW argon?

im picking up an old mobolazer system from a club i do a lot of laser/DJ work at. it has a 300mW argon head in it and it used to work great. i am converting the system over to a 1W yag and re-variancing the projector.

    Questions-

#1- what would it take to get the argon head back up and running? im pretty sure the PS still works fine. but i dont know for certain. im guessing this may just need a re-gas?

#2- anybody familiar with the older mobolazer systems?? any converting junkies out there that may have done one of these before?

#3- any argon pros out there that would want to take a look at this?

if i can get it up and running, i'd be interested in lettin it go to a good home.

Yeah, the undisputed champ of the ion, mixedgas, is going to be at SELEM. So if you want a real pro to look at it, then be sure to drag it to SELEM.

I'm guessing that the 300mW argon is a Laser Physics Reliant? If it is, thats a really good head, with an integrated power supply to boot! I understand that you can put a dead short between the anode and cathode of those power supplies and it wont hurt it! They can be refurbished if the tube is bad. I knew someone that had evergreen refurb a reliant argon a long time ago and it worked great.

i probably did about bringing my yag. lol...

just didnt read back a few pages about HOW to register.

heres some pics of the argon. picked it up tonight. thing is in perfect condition other than being dirty. this is a bad ass laser. hopefully it could be revived. (the argon head anyway)

its 1/2W all lines. (i think multi-line) it lists 457-514nM on the variance sticker. and i know this put out a nice deep blue, the lovely 488, and obviously the green. i just think that was through one of the gratings built into the optics head.

"mixed gas" any ideas?? reviveable? it has an evergreen sticker on it already (and evergreen is in CT. where i am!! ) any ideas what it would take to get the head to work again??

    Thumbs up

Looks like a nice box. A half watt on 120V. Nice find!
