I love to see a picture of them in operation in comparison to standard galvos ....to get a better idea of angle widths in real life.
What bothers me so much about them is PRICE , they always seem to be damn expensive , and i just cant see why ......they dont need to go fast as their forte is beamshows where speed is not a real issue ...... i can see and imagine WHY its taken a while for 30k/50k galvos to drop in price ...but surely WIDE ANGLE is pretty old if not ancient technology , yet i feel wide angles would be worth a lot in terms of audiance capture ......and even reduce the number of units required to cover the whole audiance area ? ?
POOR MANS wide angles ??
Galvos have dropped in price by huge chunks the last few years , i have seen 12k on sale for $150 ! and 30k for $400
So lets talk 12k ......... if you grab the mirror ( gently ) an move it , theres a phyical barrier inside that stop its movement , i presume some kind of pin ..........
SILLY QUESTION - Anybody ever moved the barrier / pin ? so the mirror can move more - therefore increase its angles ? LOL
Ok now there WILL be a thousand reasons not to no doubt , but for the sake of science has anybody Just Done It !
