    Red face Potentiometer value

    Hello All

Can any of you electronics guys out there help me with something very simple?
I feel kind of dumb... =)

I simply wanted to control image size and color intensity with some potentiameters..
I have signals coming from my ADAT (X,Y,R,G,B)

The question I have is.... What is the potentiometer value I will need?
I never understood how to properly size a pot for a job.

Can someone tell what size pots I will need for this job?

Can someone expliain the extremely simple theory how to size the pot =)

I know its simply ohms law..

    Thank!

The value you want isnt goint to be critical - a 10K pot would be a safe bet configured as a volume pot would be on the input to and amp (see image) J1 & J2 would be the input from the ADAT and J3 & J4 the output to the projector.

    Hope it helps

Ideally, you'd want a LINEAR-taper pot as opposed to a LOG-taper pot. Log-taper pots are used in volume-control applications. Linear-taper pots are used in signal-adjustment applications such as yours. See:
