    Default Scanner Weight?

My scanner build is pretty much complete now and I have to say it weighs a heck of a lot despite the fact its only a 10K scanner and one 50mW green laser inside. Ok so, theres a 9mm thick aluminum base plate and the enclosure is 1.5mm thick aluminum as well but now its all together it weighs so much... Waiting for luggage scaled to arrive, they can be handy.

Whats your builds like? I dread to think the weight of a RGB build, probally the weight of a small motorbike?

My half watt RGB with Cambridge scanners weighs about 15 kg. Aluminium is light :-)

Those 168s get heavier in proportion to morning hour! Then comes time to move the exciters - not so exciting then.

    Lightbulb

My .5W RGBV that I am tearing down has a LT1000 clone made from steel... It has to weigh 80 pounds... um... 36kg...

The Kvant 1W Spectrum weighs 8.8kg per their site... 20lbs...

    Good god those are heavy...

Just got mine weighed on some bathroom scales haha, my 10k 50mW green scanner weighs just over 4kg. I weighed my old moonflower as well and that weighs more than the scanner at 5.5kg.

The 3 phase transformer from a 2011 is the real killer though.

I used to regularly borrow one from a friend. Eventually I brought some wheels for it from my own pocket to make the job easier.
