Default My attempt at an RGB Projector

    Hi all

I thought I'd share my RGB projector construction pictures with you all

It is still incomplete as it's awaiting a red laser and a little more work

    Some brief details:

    Lasers:
    Green Laser = Lasever 200mW @ 532nm
    Blue Laser = Laserwave 250mW @ 473nm
    Red Laser = Most likely a Laserwave 800mW @ 650nm (still looking)

    Scanners:
    Cambridge CT6210
    Medialas Microamps

Mamba Black DAC and software (am already looking to go to Pangolin LD2000)

    Dimensions:
    600mm wide x 400mm deep (front to back) x 200mm high
    weight = 20Kg

    Please enjoy

    Troy

BTW, I intend to put some stuff up on the FTP site that I created in making this, things like Visio stencils of the Scanners, Amps, power supplies and such, and safety stickers for printing (in Visio and JPG)

    Some teasers

If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

Wow nice job! I reckon you could drop that thing and nothing would come unaligned (Except for maybe the galvo mirrors, but its safe not to try anyway )

    Good work!

    Hi everyone
Thank you all, I really do appreciate your feedback and praise

    Josh
The fan setup works well but the fan filters do restrict a considerable amount of air (I would say by roughly 30-40%) if the filter are removed the airflow increase to what I would have initially liked but as nothing really get that hot its turned out not to be such an issue.
If I had of known how restrictive the filters were I would have made the entire strip at the back one long filter, as is it I had room to add one more filter so I did, that’s why there is a gap between the two set (the gap was a lot bigger)

Really appreciate your comments; after all it was your Chicago YouTube clip that sucked me back into this hobby back in December (from a ten year break) and assisted me in sinking absurd amounts of money back into it (single, high disposable income, it’s all good! Besides it either this or alcohol, ok so now it’s both)
It was also due to that YouTube clip that I discovered this holy grail of a Forum

    Things
I think If I dropped it I’d have more to worry about that alignment of the mirrors, I reckon there might just be a massive dent in the floor if not a hole!
