Adam, that's really good news, Red is the new blue.
    How will they come?
Will they be complete usable moduals like the maxzy's or will they be just diodes that we have to build into mduals our selves?

If they are simply diodes will be able to put them inside the maxzy modules?

I wont be able to do that myself, I don't have the know how. Infact if they come purley as diodes I wont be able to use them either.

How much power do you need? You can get 300mw out of a diode from $30 DVD burner these days. Sometimes they don't last but at that price they are relatively disposable.

The plan is to have them in a sealed module - similar to the Maxyz modules. You simply provide DC power and blanking input and you're off and running.

    Details to follow in October...

the only problem with that is they are 660 or 650

    a 635 would be fantastic!

Is that really a problem? 300mw of 650nm red will work nicely with a 100mw or less 532nm green laser. Or you can combine a couple of them for even more power.

yeah it would work great for lower power matching but a lot of people may be wanting to have the red match their higher power greens.

but yes for a 100mw green the 22x open can diodes would work GREAT!

I'd like to get hooked up with a home brewer. I don't know anything about SS laser diodes. I'd pay some money to have some toys like that. I really want a decent 405nm too! I'd like to get to know the basics and feel confortable taking apart a DVD drive.

its pretty simple as long as you have the right tools and soldering skills.

i make a bunch of random hand held lasers.

if you want a basic 405nm laser pm me and i can give you a good deal on one

i have also made a few pretty high powered reds but i enjoy the blu ray 405s much more...

i would also be willing to do some trades possibly
