Can I just say that's NOT typical of high street opticians.

If you had walked into any one of our group you would have been asked to wait whilst the Optician had finished his test (assuming he was testing when you walked in). The Optician would then have taken you straight into the examination room and taken a look at your eyes.

As previously mentioned, if he had seen damage/swelling/bleeding or any other sign that damage had occured he would have referred you straight to casualty with a covering letter. This is the MINIMUM standard I would expect from ANY of the Opticians who work for our company.

I can tell you now that had I found out that you'd just been sent away by any of my staff I would be looking to take disciplinary action against the said employee.

Sadly though, your experience doesn't surprise me. I don't know what's happened to customer service nowadays

I do hope your vision is O.K., and if I can be of any help at all please give me a call.

I got some damage from a green laser, at first I was left with a blurry dot, and I was really worried, but over the weeks It started fading away, and now I can barely notice it, unless I actually try to look for it.

Hopefully you will be lucky and it won't be too serious, and may heal a fair bit.

Good luck andy, I hope your sight recovers.

To me happend excacly the same, now I have a small dot in my left eye.

During the day my brains learned to ignore the dot, but when I look at a bright survace I can see it, especially when reading a forum

This happend to me about 6 months ago, its still present, and according to the eye doctor my brains wil ignore the hole in my retrina.

I tell you what. Here in the USA, we don't have national health care. Everyone complains about how bad it is here and how far we have slipped behind the rest of the civilized world.

I have no doubt that I would be taken seriously and seen by a specialist within a matter of a couple of hours TOPS.

And, I know it would not matter at all if I had no insurance.

    James.
