i will check with bridge later today on the OD.

wavelengths are 635/650, 532 and 473. i will confirm those with bridge though to be 100% sure

Is Bridge able to alter the rejection balance on the coating?

1% of the red wavelength passing through is Ok becuase with a diode from a typical user on here eg 300mw thats 3 mw passing, still visible but well into the safety zone.

However, only 0.1 % of blue / green wavelengths is probably going to leave them barely viewable if at all. eg. 0.1% of 80mw of blue is only 0.08mw passed. Even with 200mw blue you're still only talking 0.2mw.

I think at the moment with that balance, its effectively a total cut off for blue / green which makes it kind of pointless to have the goggles if you have to lift them to see the beam by which time it could be in your eye.

Any chance of rebalancing the coatings to nearer to 1% each?

    Cool

You don't need to see the beam in the air. All you need to see is the spot that the beam makes on the mirror (or dichro) that you're trying to align. That will be very easy, as the human eye is quite sensitive to light.

To put this in perspective: I have a pair of argon goggles that are OD 16! And yet, when I fire up my Spectra Physics 163 Argon (488nm single line at around 30 mw), I can clearly see the spot it makes on the wall even with the goggles on.

I bought a pair of the RGB's from Bridge

I performed some simple testing when I received them by shining laser pointers (green and red) at them (not while they were on my head I should add ) and my newly purchase blue.

The transmission of Green and Blue was been filter but Red didn't appear to be. Also I'm not sure of the wavelength of the red but it's from a DVD burner so probably 660nm at 100mW

Unfortunately the pair I received was also considerable scratched, I’ve spoken to Bridge about it and he’s sending me a replacement pair.

I was going to do some proper testing once I got the replacement pair and my new Red and post some comparative photos, I don’t own a power meter yet so I wouldn’t be able to take power readings

Hopefully I’ll have them next week so I’ll post some pictures

    Hey RGBLaserFan

I’ve just logged onto UPS tracking and my new Red and replacement RGB googles should be delivered on Friday (just ready for the weekend)

So I’ll do some testing over the weekend with photos and post something on Sunday/Monday (AEST)
