laserworld 50k scanners - getting hot

got some laserworld 50k scanners.

the Y galvo is getting seriously hot, but X is just fine.

i knocked the mirror off the Y, although ive put it back on, its vibrating a little. could this be the cause of the galvo over heating?

Yes, when the galvos run hot the mirrors can get loose.
Had experienced the same thing with a pair of laserworld 50K.

Maybe you tuned it too hard.

ive not tunned or anything.

no what im saying is, the mirror is not loose but then end not attached to the galvo is vibrating, would this cause the scanners to get hot?

If your mirrors are loose and start to resonate I think the driver needs to work harder to keep the resonance under control.

I had allready 2 loose mirrors with 50k laserworld.

whats a good glue for mirrors then?

I can only advice what no to use, do not use 2 seconds quick dry glue.
This glue can shrink and bend the mirrors.

do NOT use crazy glue either..

i think a simple two part glass epoxy would work fine.

ok mirror vibrating issue sorted, the galvo is still getting hot. im not talking warm here, im talking after 20 seconds of use the galvo block is so hot you cant touch it!!!

but its only one galvo???

big help needed, could this be faulty scanners?
