I had that problem with a set of mine on the X Galvo. You are probably best getting in touch with Laserworld and they will probably arrange to replace/repair the set... I found them to be very friendly and helpful...

wow bit thanks to laserworld and the help they gave me.

the galvos are product of daily use and have no warranty.

and they are willing to sell me another set with discount!!!!!

so brand new galvos which are faulty.

so remember if you ever buy galvos from laserworld you do not get warranty!!!

did you heatsink the scan head?

all cambridges and cambridge clones need massive heatsinks!

How do you know one is so much hotter than the other? you do have the scanners tight in the mounting block and on a heatsink, yes..?

If there's no obvious damage on the board or trim pots with dry joints/damaged/hanging off etc, have you tried re-tuning from scratch?
I mean, with them powered off backing the SIZE, SG, HF & LFD trimmers down to zero and starting again.

If you do have a go tuning these LW's, just beware I have found the HFD and LFD to be the other way round than shown in the manual... you'll set all the dogs in the area off and possibly damage the galvo as well if you wind up the HFD too early by mistake

i turn the scanner on and the galvo click into place as they get power. with the galvos just sitting there, no getting any signal just power the mounting block gets very very hot. i touch the back of the x galvo and its cool. i touch the back of the y galvo and its red hot. this is after 30 seconds, not even a long time

and this is without a signal, surely this has nothing to do with tuning.

They are closed loop galvos when powered up, signal or no signal
