Default My New Computer: Class 4

So who clarified ugliness is a prerequisite of laser projectors? I don't care for a plain black box design. So I took another route. I'll let the pictures do the talking.

    Specs.

    Dac: FlashBack3 from Pangolin
    Scanners: Scanpro 20
Red: 635nm rated 400mW from Laser Wave outputting 500mW
Green: 532nm rated 1W from Extreme Lasers outputting 1.05W
Blue: 473nm rated 200mW from Laser Wave outputting 260mW
Total before optics and color balancing: 1.8W

I must say I really was surprised with the laser wave outputs. The blue could have easily passed as a 250mW model (hundreds of dollars more) if it were another company. Additionally, the red could have easily passed as a 450 (also hundreds more)

There is one problem I've encountered with a vertical design: dust settles on the optics more readily. So I just store it on it's side. The output can also be rotated with ease by software means if I desired to run it horizontally. I paid a whopping ~$4500 in materials, but it was a LOT of fun to build!

    Very nice mate.
But it appears to be missing the hanging brackets.

Sweet projector, and awesome pics! Yeah, I've heard lots of good things about LaserWave. It seems they're the new CNI.

Nice job on that build though. You alignment is perfect!

    Nice work!!!!

do you have any modualtion problems with the green?
The green should be dialed donw a bit since its a 1w.

Does the green react the same als the other colorchannels when dimming/changing?

I wonder if the dust problem is from the fans blowing into the case. Maybe
using some sort of filter would fix this.

A filter wouldn't do much since the case is so full of holes anyway :P

The green transitions very beautifully. There are a few glitches/jumps from time to time, but you have to be looking for them. All three different lasers activate at different voltages. The blue is about 90/255, red is ~140/255 and green is ~130/255. This can be remedied with software of course

my lasers specs are a 1W green with a 300mW red and a 200mW blue. i like what u have done.
for the dust, have u tried a piece of pvc pipe that will fit over the scanners and seal it with a rubber cap at the back. for the beam you can make a hole in the side of the pipe for the beam to pass thru.
