I have an idea then if I can’t get ShowRider to do it.

Often when I want to escape from the world into my world of beams I sit directly in the beam path but hold my hand up way out in front with my palm facing the aperture.
As long as I can’t see the aperture I don't get hit in the eyes, I’ll use something to block the path from the laser to the camera, like a huge dildo or something.

Err... Like how many of these do you have lying around the house?

Ahhh... I get it now, your 'huge' projector case was the delivery box for the afformentioned item
