Quote: "There is a theory which states that if ever, for any reason, anyone discovers what exactly the Universe is for and why it is here it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another that states that this has already happened.”... Douglas Adams 1952 - 2001
The subject of cases (chassis) can be a complex one and very expensive.
I have now completed a number of construction builds with lasers.
You never want to underestimate the time on the simple mechanics and the cost that can add to a project.
My two greens have turned out much as I wanted however they are too big for what they are and way too much work was required.
My current build for a 1watt Laser-Wave OEM setup is going to be a lot simpler and cheaper...
The answer I have found is the pre-made metal enclosure already painted and finished for just $144.00 NZ dollars... about $95.00 US $
Its sold by Radio Spares part number 222-070 for the 280mm * 432mm
I opted for the 300mm * 280mm this is going to make a nice "small" green unit at 1watt.
Pix to follow as progress..
Suggest take a look at Radio Spares website.. www.rs-online.com
