Default Anyone make a projetor box?

Can anyone here make good metal housing for a DIY build laser scanner?

I may start a new DIY build in the sometime soon, and actually finish it this time. Trouble I had before was finding a decent box to put it all in, I wanted it to look good and not in some flight box or something like that.

Anyone good at working metal into something usable?

have you considered using Parker Parframe or its Euro equvalent?
Thorlabs sells a metric clone of parframe. if you do some google for slotted channel or structural aluminum there are lots of clones out there, some very inexpensive. In the states we can buy it by the foot, and the corner pieces are cheap, mail order.
low cost, easy to wwork with hand tools and can use either sheet metal or .220 plexiglas or other plastic for sides.
Thorlabs calls theirs XE25 if you want to search thorlabs.com to get a idea of what I'm talking about.

The slots are sized to hold standard lexan or plexiglas etc I use black acrylic for sides on low power stuff and sheet metal for high power./

I think you'll find that is the total cost for the group buy for 12 unmachined boxes.

I believe individual boxes are going to be around £175 each fully finished.
