Are you still using 1.5.x or did you go to 1.8.0.0?
I went to your web site but it looks like you pulled 1.8.0.0. as it just says there is no version available to download at the moment.

For now it is. This would be a good time to subscribe to or at least read my Google Group. Much of the information you seek is there, including the download link.

You can view them but you have to have a project open. Either open one or create a new one. The only time that Spaghetti cares about ILDA files is in project mode.

Version 1.8.0.0 B9 seems to be a lot faster on my 1.6Ghz Atom with a gig 'o RAM.

Strangely enough, even my analog blanking seems to be working better

Can you alter this in the final version? I (I'm sure I'm not alone) only use it as an ILDA viewer at moment.

EDIT: Looks like I'm going to have to abandon Spaghetti anyway. This version is far worse than previous. I've created a dummy new project called ILDA Viewer. I now have opened only 1 folder and its all but impossible to switch between files after only around 6 or 7 files in.

When I check task manager, the memory is OK if a little high - 2.8GB but the CPU is off the scale - regularly peaking over 100% and thats on a Core 2 Duo 6600+ overclocked to 6900+.

To put this in perspective, when I ran 3DMark 2006 6 months ago, my pc was ranked fasted in the WORLD for a Dual Core 8800GT based system with a 3D mark 2006 score of around 15,000.

Its not going to be up there now as the world's fastest, as things have moved on, but this isn't a slow pc!!

I'm sorry to hear you are going to abandon using Spaghetti. But, if you were only using it as an ILDA viewer then I guess it doesn't really matter.

    hey gary

i dont like that you have to put the ilda's in the "project files" before you can drag them on to the time line the way it was before was much beter
and the project folder was automaticly added when files got added to the time line

it took me a while to figure that one out (Rclick to add to project)

I didn't want to make that change but there are strong technical reasons for doing it that way. The main reason is to improve performance by reducing the amount of files that get loaded into memory at one time.

Once you get accustomed to the idea it isn't a big deal, though. Just add all the files you want to use to your project then switch to the Project tab and go from there.

It's one of those compromises that has some bad with the good. But, in this case, the good outweighs the bad.

    Good news and bad news.

First the good news. I fixed Spaghetti so you can browse to folders with lots of ILDA files. The IShow folder has over 1600 ILDA files in it and Spaghetti handles it just fine now. Before, it was locking up as was stated on here. Also, the scrolling of the ILDA files in the browser is as smooth as glass now. No flickering or stuttering while scrolling.

Now the bad news. It's no longer possible to hover over one of the little thumbnails and see it as an animated image. If you want to see the file animated you have to click on it and the big preview image will show the animated file. The thumbnails themselves don't animate anymore and I don't think they ever will. A shame since I was really proud of that feature. But like I said before, it's always a compromise when dealing with these types of issues.
