i find that the multi quote says "im gonna pick apart everything you said and insert my opinion over your to completely invalidate your entire post"

We've discussed this before, but I use multi-quotes because it keeps the discussion on track. It's easier to follow that way.

If someone feels that their post is "invalidated" just because someone else has a different opinion and chooses to express it, then they've got serious self-esteem issues. The fact is, this is a discussion forum, and there are going to be differences of opinion. When trying to work through those differences, it helps to keep things organized, and multi-quoting facilitates that.

If you think I'm an ass simply because I present my opinion in an orderly format, then you're taking offense where none is intended. I don't multi-quote to put someone on the defensive, I do it to make the discussion easy to understand and follow.

now in cases where you are agreeing and ADDING to the statements (like above) its completely ok..

I realize I'm playing right into your hand by multi-quoting you here, but you've got to admit that you're being unreasonable. Multi-quoting is either insulting or it's not. So make up your mind already!
