A polymer solution is a good solution...

    It is very expensive though

I believe that Jessop's photography in the UK do a similar polymer solution called Opticlean. I also know that Rob (Stanwax) uses this and it works great.

Basically you just brush it on your optic that you wish to clean, let it dry and peel it off. It lifts all the dirt off your optic leaving it pristinely clean.

    Cheers

For your galvos mirrors, I advice you to clean them while looking at them under a microscope, or other magnify equipement

I did that last week, and it was the first time I reached a correct reflection. By looking at them at eye, they seemed to be clean. But I had 40% loss on my green beam!!
Under microscope (10-20x is enough), I clearly saw some sort of horrible crap on it...

for clean the optics, better is using anhydrous aether mixed with anhydrous ethanol, the rate is 2:1, if not had aether in hand, anhydrous ethanol is also ok, be sure using soft optics cleaning tissue or cotton swabs dipped with the mixed liquid.
    Best regards!
