What about a photonlexicon chatroom

i just noticed that there is 37 users logged into the forum ... including most of the regular posters

and after i just got my nuckles rapped for hijacking a thread ( sorry simon ) .... i was wondering, what if we had a chatroom ?...

i guess sometimes the threads nearly run in realtime anyway but especialy like today when a lot of members are online .... it would make a great sunday social event ..... and takes the "not so important mundane crap" out of the threads

is this something that could be setup by Spec on PL or would this need to be done seperately

anyone interested in this ?

It won't work. Who is going to log on and sit in a chat room waiting for someone else to join? A better idea is just to just use MSN or Yahoo and give your friends your username. If they want to talk to you they will IM you. I am not trying to be a jerk about this but just being realistic because I have seen other forums with chatrooms and they are never used.

All you need is a chatbot to hold the channel open. Easy enough to do. It might be fun...

Actually, now that I think about it, the event page has a perpetual chat window linked to my Ustream.tv channel chat window. So just go to the event page and you can chat anytime... (Might want to pause the video feeds though. They're set to loop on both my page and Aaron's, so you'll have two video's running and conflicting sound as well!)

I'd suggest IRC.
LaserFreaks are on german insiderZ-IRC network and in addition to that we also have a TeamSpeak-Server.
It's nice!
