Default Argon power supllies on ebay

    Hello,

Will any of these power supplies work for an American 60X?

this seller has quite a few different ones for sale in his store...
The connector on this one seems similar to the American 60X Umbilical...

    Cool

They are capable of powering a 60X tube - yes. However, they are *not* pin-compatible. If you're looking for a plug-and-play solution, this isn't it.

If you can get accurate pinout data on the power supply, you can build yourself a custom cable that will power your 60X.

A 60X head needs two boost signals relative to the PSUs negitive side, 200-400V that is not there in the JDSU circuit. If you want to do this, you need to add boost to get the X to fire, otherwise the laser sets there going plop, plop, abd never ignites as the ignite pulse is not hot enough. You also have to watch the cathode settings. So you'd need a umbilical and a transformer isolated hV supply , and a 100K limiting resistor for the boost voa 100K pinouts. Its a bit of a hack, but it can be done. Or buy a dead JDSU head and use their ignitor. module.

Way back when I used to buy them from a Xerox board repair company refurbished for $60. Unfortunately I don't remember what their name was. Also, it would probably be kind of hard to buy from them unless you're a copier dealer.

Anyone know the exact printer model numbers that the 60x lasers came from?

    Default PSUs

I never did like the ALC gold PSUs. You don't have to use one of those. You could also use an Omni 150P or a 29AN12 from MWK (which is an Omni with "MWK" painted on it) The pins match. If memory serves, the 110V utility fuse will blow if you try and power a cooling fan off of the head. If you use either of these PSUs, you will have to jump the fan interlock and power it independently.
