Default What's the news on DVD burner diodes?

The pioneer 112 seemed a very good candidate early this year. Kaz got great results with it I believe. Did anyone else give that diode a try?

With the group buy going on for the 642nm diodes I was wondering if DVD burner diodes have been abandonned for some reason...

I've got some rohm diodes to get my dual red working but when it's all set I will replace them with some more powerful diodes. Has anyone got any experience with the pioneer 116 diodes?

Good to know the 115 still uses open can, the 116 probably has it too then.
Are the 115 diode's pins compatible with the 112?

    nows theres a good question...

i had one running in my scanner for probably something like 10 hours then i took it out to do some tweaking put it back in and the diode had gone.

    so not really fully tested.

quick question on the red open cans.

these are case positive right? so you have to isolate the heat sink from the rest of your projector?

if so what is the best way of doing this?
