    Question Perfect laser!

A friend of mine just bought a laser second hand for, cheep

    RGB
    green 180mw
    blue 100mw
    red 500mw

That combination seems a little strang but I may be wrong. Is there a perfect ballance to have and what is it.

You need to post the wavelengths to get an accurate reply as wavelength affects visibility and thus the amount of particular colour needed. I'm sure someone can fill you in on the ins and outs once they have the wavelengths.

I would say that the red is 650-660nM not 635nM

A good ratio is something like 4:2:1 (R:B:G) but blue is so expensive that it is often understandibly underpowered in a lot of scanners. But that is OK because the other colors can be dialed back for proper mixing, if desired. My scanner has 180mw red, 50mw green, and 70mw blue and the color mxing seems about perfect at full throttle. But, also don't forget that there are a lot of losses through the dichros and mirrors. So, at the exit of my galvo mirrors, the laser powers are definitely not 180mw/50mw/70mw. I actually have no idea what they are. I should measure them.

i'm no expert, but from what i have learned here,it looks like you need more blue or to turn down your green to match.
looks like you have the red you need.
