Looks like the first LDs in the 470 nm line have made it!. They're only 20 mW for now, but not unlike the reds; give 'em a few years and: higher power and price drops maybe in the not too distant future ..YeeHah.. http://www.laserdiode.ca/Blue_Laserd...serdiodes.html
Looks like $3.85 to me.... I'll take a couple hundred.
Hopefully some engineer somewhere will find an application for it that will require these go into mass production. Then they will get very cheap. Geez, then there really wont be an "expensive" laser. Red is cheap, green is cheap and violet is cheap. Next to work on is yellow
Oohh, yellow and orange (in my best Homer Simpson voice) Yeh, $3.85 ea...uh, not. I believe some places in Europe use commas where we use decimal points and maybe vice-versa. My argon filament (Lasos tube; GmbH) read 2,25V (@18A) on the label. I guess I could have put 225VAC on it ..YEAH!! Spark-O-Rama!
Mr. Ergunes, Thank you so much for the prompt response. I will forward this information immediately to the appropriate personnel. Would you be able to tell us if this diode is likely to be mass produced for future application(s), resulting in per-unit and quantity cost reduction; and if so, would you be able to establish and provide an approximation time-line for this factor? Thank You very much, Steve __________________________________________________ ___________ Dear Steve,
Thanks for your consideration to work with us.
Please kindly be informed that this products is unique and there is no wavelenght at 473nm available except the Nichia laser diodes. Factory is working well and for your possible further requirement with the volume quantities shipment will be not more then 4-6 weeks.
I look forward to hear from you soon.
Best Regards,
