for future reference did you unstick it and put grease on both sides or just the non sticky side?

I think what went wrong here was that you didn't put enough pressure on the pad. I don't know what type it was, but they can be ok if thin enough.

There really is no substitute for some real metal-on-metal action though. Thermal paste should only fill the voids created by the uneven surfaces. That's proper usage of thermal paste.

Keep in mind these thermal compounds are on the order of two magnitudes worse heat conductors than solid metals. Thermal pads are even worse!

im doing some testing on runnin a t803 diode at 200mw.

the tec is set for 10-15 degrees and so far its doing very well and staying at 10-15 degrees been running for 15 mins so far.

i was playing last night without a diode and was cooling the alum block to -5 with the tec LOL. was fun!

will keep the results coming, my aim is an hour tonight
