Looks like a standard 6 channel DMX desk to me.

    Why the promotion?
    Are you sleeping with him?
    Are you his House Bitch?

No, don't worry, your position is secure. I am happy being my beautiful girlfriend, aka the boss', house bitch.

And this is not a promotion, I just saw it and wanted to get the community's opinion on it. I am sure most of us already have a poor opinion of EL. That doesn't mean his products are worth chatting about.

Looks good but I'm probably going to go with one of these when I have the funds. http://cgi.ebay.com/NOVATION-REMOTE-...d=p3286.c0.m14

the first DMX controller from extreme ...hmmmm

im guessing thats not the latest technology .....

with a computer interface that uses a DB9 serial port

how many laptops have a serial port on them now ....

Last year i bought a new laptop from dell .... dual core... nice graphics ... aprox £600 tops .... but it had no serial port ... so i asked them if they could add one to the spec as my industrial servo software need a hardware based comms port ( not a virtual USB port )

they came back to me to say that this would have to fit a different type of motherboard that had on board serial and could run the latest graphics and processors ..... end result £1200 ..... so thats £600 for a serial port

strange to see serial ( ok i know its not obsolete ) but it is getting rare

    all the best ... Karl

Considering you can buy a full out USB DMX controller package for abit under $300, not much point. I own a DMX USB pro from Enttec and LOVE it! It even has a inbuilt MCU! (Like the Pangolin stuff, if your computer locks up, aslong as it has power, it will just continue with what it was doing last...)

the lasers from EL I have heard a mixed opinion, Hemlock mike got a 473 labby from them for his Rgb, and he likes it..

Yep, I sure do. Novation SL Remote Zero

However, I have to be honest and say that it's a bit overkill. In my opinion there are too many twiddly 'pots' on it.

I would prefer something with say 8 or 10 sliders and lots of buttons for setting the cues in LivePRO. I find the pots are a bit of a waste of time, that is unless of course you just like twiddling things

I'm waiting for a new version of Pangolin's Lasershow Performer Console to be made available for a couple of hundred quid
