Default Red 635 is acting up

Have no idea who is a maker.
Anyways. I apply 5volts. Diode fires up full power for about a second and then turns off. Sometimes it flickers and then goes off. It has to sit for a few seconds to fires up again but this time only half power. When it sits for about 1 minute it fires full power. What could be? Cold solder on driver board?

I hired an Italian guy to do my wires. Now they look like spaghetti!

Dodgy power regulator maybe? it may be that the driver thinks the laser is running at too high a power, so it lowers it untill it is off. then again, I dunno if these lasers have output regulation ...

    Question

Is it similar to the issue your blue was having? I thought your red was a CNI...

I think it could be the red from the mystery laser.

Steve - what size hammer do you suggest

If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

Well, I was just thinking of whamming the board against the table a couple of times, but if you really want the precision electronic tools, I'd say a 3 lb. sledge would do it..

Yeah, I think that one's for critical resonator mirror alignment on gas lasers, right?..
