1mm thick? here most are 0.65mm ,0.8mm thick for galvo mirrors, more thick and more weight and that will slow the scanner's speed.

Are you sure it is Aluminium? CT writes on their website:
"Cambridge Technology standard mirrors for the Model 6200, 6210, and 6800HP can have either a Protected Silver or a Visible Dielectric Coating. The Protected Silver Coating is 1000 Angstroms of durable low pinhole silver with a reflectance of 90% from 400nm, >94% from 600nm well into the infrared. The Dielectric Coating is a high performance, wide band dielectric with >97% reflectivity from 450nm to 675nm. "

we had 10*10*2mm reflect mirror, from 400-700nm, R>99%
If this is true, these mirrors would be some of the best available on earth.
What I know from chinese mirrors is all between 75-90%.

    Good questions, Joachim.
First, I would like to say this mirror is not scanner mirror, it is 0 degree or only 45 degree using mirror.
yes, with some degree incidence, especially the incidence is change, it is so so so difficult to coating that higher reflections, just like the scanner mirror, it is always 45 degree incidence and with the scanner swing, the degree is change from 22-67 degree, the best one can be >99% reflections. .
second, for coating, as the diffraction theory tell us, it can be 100% reflection, but is theory design, all things had absorb, that can't be true, but for 99% reflection, it is not difficult to do, for single wavelength reflection, 99.8% is very normal guideline, using Veeco, you sure can do 99.9%, for broadband coating, 99% is also not so difficult.
yes, maybe in your eyes, CT is using the most best coating, not always that, if they only using sliver coating, the guideline is not well as gold coating, also much bad than multi-layer
dielectric coating, yes, I must agree maybe CT did one of the best scanner, but remember if they using siliver coating, it is not well at all.here in this forums, some people test the scanner mirror from China, 98% reflection, yes we can do it, .
    Best regards!

I too wouldn't mind one... I also wouldn't mind carrying the US distribution.
