I think I just found my new Holyday greetings card.
James.
So "Comfort and Joy" come in a box now? Wrapped up as a Christmas present?
Ahhh... Now I know the true meaning of Christmas!
As for the unit itself, eh... It plays music and has a few pre-programmed frames. 400 bucks doesn't sound outrageous, even if they are just steppers in there. I'd certainly never buy one though!

Ok well at least those people I know. I've been in laser from some time here in cleveland but kind of stayed out of the way. I just meet Marc Via Bill and Bridge. I've been lurking on the laserist list since 2000. Just found this forum.
James is that mess of a projector Rob built still running?
This "toy" can't be over 5mw or it would not be CDRH to the public. Watch someone load a 1w yag in it and put it on a the goodyear blimp. Then they will ban laser display! Lasers plus public = trouble.
He did not build it. He was just kind and gracious enough to find it, haul it home and practically give it to me for nothing.
BTW. Yes it works fine and I still love it!
You must be someone I've met. Are you Marc I met at Rob's?
Or are you Mark that lives in my house?
Or are you Matt that led me into the life of being a laser pariah?
James.

I'm the Marc you meet at Rob's house and I'm Matt's neighbor! If I can solve my green modulation problem sans AOM (god I hate the little green dot) Then I will have myself a fully functioning 400mw solid state laser projector in a 24"x18"x6" box. Happy to share what I did if you want it. Total cost sans scanners was $1000.00
Its a bit repetitive. Could probably do with more memory so more variety to the shows.
Would be far better though just to use your own projector.
Maybe this is the perfect opportunity for someone to assemble a fibre optic set up with remote head so theft wouldn't be an issue - projector in the house, scanners outside. Could see one problem with a powerful projector down the yard though and thats health and safety of visitors to the premises. Suppose with a remote head though you could always pole mount it so it always scans above even the tallest of visitors.
