i just got the 40ks from dave at LSP. theyre amazing! great speed, quiet. great mirrors. low loss. (>98% reflectance approx. though i HAVE NOT measured that yet).
that would be my suggestion.

Buffo has just done a review of the new DT25's and has posted a link to some video footage. Your looking at about £215 - £220 for a new set.
Just been speeking to Rob about them for my self and he is looking into stocking them.

200 really is my limit

Yeah they're $350 + postage to UK.
I don't know if he'd do you a deal though through PL.

looking at the dt-25 they only seem to be 25k, i was ideally after something a little faster.

Laserworld 50K scanners will do a decent 30K from other posts on here.
Might pick some up on ebay for that price. Other than that I'm not sure I know of any.
are laserworlds any good?
ive had bad experences in the past and ive heard a lot of bad things about laserworld

Gonna be really hard to hit your price point and still get good 30K performance, Andy.
The DT-25's are pretty good, and they should be in your budget range. But you're looking at less than 30K speeds, and less scan angle too. (They max out at around 8 degrees on the test pattern when tuned for 25K.) Having said that, they would still be a *big* improvement in image quality over your 10K units. If the budget cap is a hard number, this may be your only option.
As Mark said, the ScanPro 40's are *quite* nice, and will also scan a good bit wider. But they're more expensive, and will totally blow your budget cap.
A compromise might be the ScanPro 30's. They're a solid 30K scanner, and they'll still do at least 10 degrees on the ILDA test pattern based on my review. Actually, you might get more than that out of them, since the pair I reviewed last year had larger mirrors on them. The standard mirror set is lighter, so you might pick up another degree or two.
But even so, they're going to run you a good bit more than 200 pounds Sterling...
Re: Laserworld: though I haven't reviewed a set personally, based on what I've read here on PL, I'd avoid them.

thanks buffo,
ive got some dt40's (not pro's) that bill (pangolin) tunned for me. so they scan really fooking well.
this is just a back up scanner, as you never know when you might need it.
im tempted by these dt25 as it goes. my budget is a litle low so...
