    Its a Mobolaser

Why do the beams travel along the chassis?

It seems to travel along and hit different Diffractions. How does The beam work its way along different effects?

I dont know exaclty how the "mobolaser" is set up. But thhis is what most lasershowsystems looked like in the 90s. Although often much much bigger enclousure/box.

What is used to change the beams are something called "Auctuators"

Auctuator without the mirror attached (curtesy: medialas.de)

The beam often comes from the laser inside and then mirrored up on the Top plate where different effects are added. The auctuators are set up in a row along the laser beam. And when switched they break the beam with the mirror and is mirrored to the effects/scanners etc.

here is a pic of my work in project with the same ideá.

Mayby you know all this allready and just wondered about the "mobolaser" and then im sry. but mayby someone else was interested.

    take care.

Sure you can - you just have to look around for them. Mobolazer is now under another name however, from what I understand.

An upgraded mobolaser went on ebay a few months back for about £700 if memory serves me right (which it frequently doesn't).

    Whoa! It's my laser!

Wow.. That Mobolazer is pretty much exactly like mine except I mounted DT40Pros near the middle and the rest is diffraction/beam effects.

..and I have a 2.5watt Melles Griot instead of the 300mw option.

Rfourt is correct in his description of how this works although the beam basically comes out of the head, takes two 90 degree turns and is then sent across an array of 10 servos, most of which have semi-transparent optics on them so you can have up to 3 apertures on at a time. (maybe more, but I never do more than 3.)

There is also a master shutter which is spring-loaded.
