Thumbs up The build begins - RGB (eventually!)

Well with a little help (read a hell of a lot!) from Mr Stanwax, the build begins...
Using a stripped out desk top pc, planning the layout begins...
    ...various options ....see below:

Is that 'Laser Film' a must for a laser project?
Boy do I need to cut my nails?...lucky you cant see my hair!

If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

Starting to look good there Kev.

The layout in the second pic looks to be the best option to me. But what do I know? I only have green projectors.

Whats total power output are you going to get from that baby?

    See you on Saturday.

    Hi Kev,
Looking good! Very similar to the one I have (almost) finished.
It has all worked well. Still have to get it aligned properly, but too busy looking at the pretty colours!
    Regards, David

Hey Kev! Had you not cropped the top of Rob's head off that photo would have been great for Karl (Banthai) to uses in photoshop.

Rob knows what I'm talking about.

Think we settled on Option4 ...the last pic to give maximum air flow and ventilation to power supplies.
The pics are a bit misleading, the green (125 or 150mw?)on the left is mine the rest are borrowed from Robs 'laser library' just to get a feel for how it might look for spacing etc.
I have a nice 650nm red on order from Laserwave (via Rob!)
I'll be happy with RGY for now until I win the lottery to buy a decent Blue!one day

    Hi David
    Your thread is an inspiration!
I,ve been watching it with interest, I think thats why in the end we decided to go for the pc case approach.
I got a nice 6mm sheet of ally cut by 'Aluminium Droitwich' (2x free cuts!) and we were off, fitted in the base near perfect, a really solid feel to it.
Can't wait to get to the 'alignment stage' ...I gather I need a few 'bears' for that eh
    cheers

Since every additional mirror means loss of power you should get rid of that mirror directing the mixed beam onto the scanner.
