Making Multicolour Framelists into Single Colour!

Hi,

I'm fairly new to all this Lasershow programming, but was wondering if anyone knows how to convert multicolour lasershow frames into single colour ones, as I am using a single colour Laser projector.

This is probably dead easy, but I haven't figured it out yet and any help would be much appreciated.

Yes. LaserBoy will do that for you.

Open your .ild files into LaserBoy and go to menu 'p' palette transforms. Choose option ??? strip color information. I'm not sure what letter it will be! I am working on that menu right now. BUT use a capital letter to strip the color from all the frames in the set. Then save it as plain old ILDA format 0 or 1.

#1 put the file in the laserboy/ild directory or laserboy cant see it
#2 in laserboy press "i" then 1 then type the name of the file (without the '.' or extention)

Connect the laser to the intensity pins (3 and 16) of the ILDA connector as opposed to one of the color pins that I presume you have done

This way you don't need use additional software to convert the frames to single color

the other thing to do - so you dont need to convert your frames - is connect the blanking of the laser to Ilda pins 3 & ground (if single ended input) or 3 & 16 if diff input. This will output a blanking signal to the laser no matter what colour you use.
