    Default My 300mW Greens against a 4W RGB.

    Just thought I would post a few pic's of my two 300mW green lasers trying to compete against a 4W RGB hired in for a laser spectacular special at a gig at 53 Degrees, Preston last night.

    It was planed for a water cooled white to be hired in for the night but there were unforeseen problems with a suitable water supply so a DPSS RGB system instead.

    My two lasers are set up next to the big screens with the RGB centre.

    carl,

    Nice pictures.
    Your 300mW lasers stand up very well agains the 4W rgb.

    Are you sure thats a 4W RGB???? maybe it is turned way down?

    I did ask what the power was and there was nothing on the laptop screen controlling the RGB that suggest the power was turned down.
    The white was pretty bright to look at from the back of the room.

    They were using the Zion laser software and I got the impression only the 7 main colours were being used. The Red looked to me to be around the 650nm mark and the blue at around 450-460nm.

    I like the fifth picture, where the DJ turns his head. Nice setup, but I have to agree with Anthony (again), 4 W?!??!?!?!?!?!? Sure your 300 mW weren't brighter?

    I think your greens "compliment" rather than " compete" in this setup..

    Could the appearance of lower power be that only the second pix seems to show predominant white light so would this be the 'most' power (it appears brighter in this shot but could just be the angle of the pix) whereas the other pix show the various colors thus using the power available related to that color ??.

    I guess its easy to say 4 watts RGB but in what ratio ?? or is that a true 4watt white light laser ??... if so your greens at 300mw look "really good"..

    Well when the RGB was just doing green beams my greens were easily complamenting and both had titer beam divergence.

    If I was to guess the power from seeing it in action I would say it was doing 1-1.5W with a green in the region of 300-400mW mark.

    I'm glad you all found the pic's pleasing.

    Edit: Pitts. I think your right in saying my green's complament rather than compeat with the RGB and have adjusted this posting.

    Nice pics, thanks for sharing! Your greens definalty compliment the RGBs. The RGBs got some fatty reds too.

    Some lovely colours in that RGB though. Sometimes I almost prefer TTL to analogue as although analogue can open up a whole new spectrum of colours, its also true that you can mix dirty looking ones just as you would on a paint pallete when you get it wrong whereas those colours just look so pure.
