Default Kinda stupid question about classes..

I see on the laser i brought from laserworld is class: 4

    Is class 3b better?
I see that some of the RGB lasers on 8000mw uses class 4..

    Cool

Class 3B is lower power than Class IV.

Class 3B is >5mw but <=500mw. Class IV is >500 mw.

Having said that, the labels could be incorrect. Some unscrupulous manufacturers label a class 3B laser as a class IV, and vice-versa.

    Cool

Depends... Are you looking for more power? And are you sure that the laser is labeled correctly? If so, then a Class IV laser would be more powerful than a Class 3B. Note that it will also be more dangerous...

    Default about classes...

    Yes Tori. We all agree.
    More power = more fun

    But always remember this:

    (this is an extreme example...)
    250mw red = class IIIb
    250mw blue = class IIIb
    4mw green = class IIIa

even if power of each laser is class IIIa or IIIb, the total output power is 250+250+4 = 504mw = class IV = handle with care....
