    Default NTSC and PAL

    hey...

i am recording some old VCR tapes into my computer to burn onto DVD. i am going to be sending some of these DVD's over to England. i need to record these as "PAL" dont i??

if i just record regularly, they wont work over in englad will they??

i am using a simple VCR to record (real time, OUCH!!!) into my puter through a capture device.

then just burning some DVD's/ do i choose the PAL format as i burn? or as i capture the video from the VCR??

    thanks for any help...

the best thing to do for compatibility is just put them as files on the disk as in avi or mov then you wont have the pal/ntsc problem as at that point its just data

    Hey Marc!
When I made the SELEM DVD's, I made a PAL disk for distribution to the UK. For some reason, the PAL format disk seemed to have issues. Now, the torrent download I currently have going has had no problem with downloaders in Europe and is in the NTSC format. My guess is that most players in Europe are now capable of reading NTSC just fine. At least, that's my conclusion. Hope thaqt helps.
    Thanks!
