That plastic looks to me like it doesn't drill very easily. Make sure there are no residual pieces of plastic remaining in the hole. Also, if it is not permanently mounted, I would try powering the laser on outside of the encolsure. If it still does the same thing, some debris may have gotten inside the aperture and is obscurring the beam. Maybe get some canned air and **GENTLY**, can't stress that enough, blow it out.
