Sorry if I am being repetitive, but just in case you did not see my question before. What scanners do you plan on using?

Wow, some folks will just have to learn the hard way I guess. Very nice setup Andy, however, you really are doing your customer a dis-service by exposing these high value items to potential damage. At the company I work for, ESD is taken VERY seriously. We are required yearly to get recertified. When I work on equipment, I wear a special device that not only connects me to ground, but has an alarm if I get disconnected or there is a potential hazard. ESD damage may or may not cause an immediate failure, it may work fine for a while with ESD damage. Is it really worth the risk though?!

    Looking good!
Are the two blue lasers in a different package? Did you have bridge make them with different polarities?

Wow that is big Andy, and not very thick.
I would personally make it as small as possible, get everything up tight and close, do away with the the extra bounce mirrors (shim the laser heads to height if required) and put it all on a bit of 8mm thick 6082 (minimum) otherwise I think you'll find it'll be pretty unstable.

And get those tails into some static bags, at least!

    i have cambridge scanners.

    its 6mm thick alum.

the request was for a open well spaced beam table and thats what the above is.

i am planning on making it a tad smaller as i did add a little on to be on the safe side.

    Nice lasers, scanners and optics!!!!!

I do think that 6mm is to thin for that size table.

I use 6mm on a cheap 15X20cm beamtable and even wtih that small size i can flex the "table" and mis allign the beams.

Wuahahaahah..,.. have it your way andy....
I don't need to extend the truth :-)

Maybe my standards are a bit higher than yours? i don't know.
But than again.. i'm not building a high "dollar" high power lasersystem for a client so i don't have to clean the walls when the shit hits the fan.

I do really think you are starting off the wrong way with your project by using the wrong base to fit everything on...

I wish you all the best with your project...
