Few pics I took ....
Last night, we had a rather large storm that decided to cross over. I decided to take some video, and caught a few strikes, including a very close one abot 20m from my house. Crappy quality, since it was pulled from video, but you get the idea.
Looks fairly overcast today ..... (Have a look at the window of the car, its a hint )
Well actually, it wasnt day, it was caused by this ....
Just a few random shots ...

Sorry for the 2nd post, my wireless internet corrupted the edit button :?
The strike you see in the 2nd pic, actually TURNED OFF my laptop!!!
I think that may have been caused by the huge EMP from the strike .

yeh i took some lightning "photos" mine were actually videos and I cut the strikes out of them.
From the back yard
From lookout mountain Tennessee

At least I'm not the only one that's obsessed with thunderstorms.
I'll stay awake at 3AM just to watch a good "electric lightshow"
Nice pics guys!
Thanks,
Adam
P.S. Not lightning but some of my favorite high voltage vids....

I wouldnt say I am obsessed with them, I actually have a small case of brontophobia (Fear of thunderstorms), I just happened to be brave enough to go outside and film for a little while

To note, we almost NEVER get thunder/lightning here in the Portland area. (or pretty much anywhere else in the area)
Over the mountains near Bend, the weather is completely different, so I imagine they might get it there.
I'm originally from Oklahoma (Norman) and we had plenty of lighting there. Even though we moved to Oregon when I was three, I remember the pastime of sitting on the tailgate of the Cutlass Cruiser in the garage, watching lightning which would often strike close by.
In other news, I was born during a tornado warning. ..for what it's worth.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that lightening in a cloud of ash from a volcanic eruption?
BTW, everyones pics are very nice.
