Default Got a new toy today :D

    I got a EEEpc!

After seeing they can have up to 7 hours battery life, I said to myself I NEED one!

    The specs:
    1.6Ghz Intel Atom processor
    1GB DDR2 RAM
    10" Screen (I believe)
I'm running it at 1024x600 screen res. and it looks fine!
    160GB HD
Built in wireless, camera, SD card reader
and the best part, 5 hour battery life!

Compared to my old laptop. The funny thing is, this EEEpc has better specs than the bulky thing next to it!

I made this post on it, and typing takes a little getting used to, since the keys are significantly smaller. This thing is about the size of a peice of A4 paper when opened right out.

    I like it!

I think Jem has one of these, a HP brand version in fact. Its very nice and runs his Pango very well from what I've seen.

    Nice purchase!

I saw the HP version in the shop too, they are slightly bigger than these, and _I think_ slightly more expensive. I can play Grand theft Auto San Andreas on this with minimal "jumpiness". Which is the most CPU/graphics intense game I ever play.

I got this one for about $530AU, but it is one of the newest models, so older ones will be abit cheaper, of course. Another one of the reasons I bought it was to control lights with DMX etc, and my sound card DAC. Pangolin still to come

EDIT: Just went into task manager and noticed I have 2 processors! wtf ... I don't think its dual core, must be a error or something

EDITEDIT: Just found out its actually a hyperthreading CPU. The operating system detects it as dual core, even though it isnt.

My old HP nc8000 has up to 9hrs and thats in a regular format package. Whilst i like the move to miniaturise everything, I'm not sure laptops are one of the things that benefit.

However, i am also a fan of all things electrical (when asked what i want for Xmas/birthdays i normally just say 'anything with a plug on it') so i should also add a 'Oooh!' in there too.....
