You walk out of Vegas after 5 days, up $25!

Luck *was* on your side!!! I don't even want to think how much I've lost there! They don't make money by giving it away!

We went to Biluxi about 2 years ago, thankfully, my wife hit a jackpot on a slot, $1800 or we would have lost big there too!

It's alot of fun, but amazing how fast you can go through some cash in a casino!

One night he closed the casino for some redecoration and a compagny came to put op the christmass decorations.

He gave me 1000 euros playmoney and we played roelette.
Played from 22:00 till 06:00.. great fun!! but at 6:00 i losed 800 of the 1000 euros.
Its fun, but real gambling is not for me.

I'm the guy that usually pays for someone's trip to Vegas.....

I never made squat on the several times I went there. If I feel inclined to throw money at anything now, it's gotta be more lasers! .

Gambling isn't for me. Knowing that the casino makes money and the odds are against me I simply don't enjoy it. Sure, there's a chance you'll win, but you're more likely to lose. It just feels like you're being used.

If you can beat the game it's a whole different deal though. People who manage that should be rewarded, but since casinos think otherwise it just makes me dislike them even more.

Reminds me of a great (and true) story. The first chapter in Kevin Mitnick's book "The art of intrusion" called "Hacking the casinos for a million bucks". It's about a group of 4 friends who in the 90s decided to try to beat the machine after one of their wives challenged them. They did.

It was easy to rationalize. We were stealing from the casinos that steal from old ladies by offering them games they can't win. Vegas felt like people plugged into money-sucking machines, dripping their life away quarter by quarter. So we felt like we were getting back at Big Brother, not ripping off some poor lady's jackpot.

They put a game out there that says, "If you pick the right cards, you win." We picked the right cards. They just didn't expect anyone to be able to do it.

    LOL-

yeah, gambling...not my thing anymore either. i REALLY wanted to learn how to play "Craps." but i just couldnt get a good table to try and learn on. oh well, next time. roulette and texas hold-em were my games of choice.

    here are some pics-

a few are of the GIANT, and i mean G I A N T LCD ceiling. its about 2 city blocks long. goes over the top of the whole old "Las Vegas Strip." ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! at the top of the hour, every hour, it does a big show synchronized to music.

there is also a few of the big fountain in front of the bellagio hotel/casino. another GINORMOUS Vegas attraction. if any of you saw the movie "Oceans 11," its the fountain in the last scene that they all stand in front of after robbing the casinos.

every 10 mins, it also did a synchronized show to music. really beautiful.
