    Default Single laser setup

Well...I am back in business..I think! (dont say anything to the doctor)
It is just a layout for a laser that I am planning to build, With help from a friend. I do the thinking and he does the work-part

I think this is a nice setup.
    "Optical table" Length is 53cm (20.8 inch) * Wide is 28cm (11inch) Hight is 14cm (5.5inch)
It is a Vishao 1.8 watt greenie
    DT40Pro's scanners. (jian)
Offcource the DB-25 breakout board from DZ
    Mirror from brigde (laser-wave)
    Also include a safty-shutter later

    Look at the picture

turn the galvo amps with the pots towards the side of the board. This way you can easily tune them from the side

The amps need to be heat sinked or I would say that is a good idea...

    Nice work man!

I merely suggest you they be rotated. The heatsink side can still stay on the breadboard ...

    Hi Cruch

You see the screw treminals on the side of the PCB on two sides ??

Go along with a small screwdriver and tighten them. (ensure tha head is not connected at the time for static issues) I have had mine come loose... one of my Viasho's arrived with the screws not even tightened at the factory at all !!... hence it cut on and off like crazy..... had to fix it myself or it was freight it back to China.

Wondering why the mirror ?? you have a lot of room here. Do you need the hassle ?
I made my original two greens way too big. My last one (1 watt
Laser- Wave) is a real neat little package at about 280mm by about 300mm . Built it inside a Radio Spares chasis. Very handy to cart around and weighs nothing.

My two Viashos are like bricks and could be cut way down.
IF and WHEN I get around to it.

    Cheers

add a second mm1 two mm1s make it easier to match the beam height to the galvos, and leave room in there for a actuator to deflect the beam into a lumia wheel. Leave more room to mount a model airplane servo to put a diffraction graing in front of the scanners as well. Will make your life sooo much easier when you add red l8tr.

Get some cheap burst and linear grating from one stop laser shop, its like 9-20$ a sheet,
but makes some dramatic effects if you put it in front the scanners.

The "riddlers brainwave" effect in teh "BatMan Returns" movie was the burst grating in front of the scanners.
So was the question marks projected around the riddlers lair.

I agree with turning the boards so you can tune too.

Good idea I may send them to pangolin for tuning..
Because I dont know how to tune. And I dont dere to tune it either

add a second mm1 two mm1s make it easier to match the beam height to the galvos
The beam hight is straight on to the galvos, so I need only one mm1
I could put it directly without an mm1. (move galvo to the long side, but I dont want to do this)

    Pitts: they are tightened

Well, I will post pictures later...
